On the bay of Marina Piccola, home to Capri's better beach clubs, Bagni Internazionali opened shortly after the fall of Mussolini as the beach's very first bathing establishment. The beach club is immediately recognizable from its collection of colorfully painted wooden beach huts of green, blue and yellow pastels. The beach club is built over four levels beginning with lounger service on the main pebbly beach in front on the main bar and splattering waves of the greenish-blue bay. The second and third levels are arranged in front of the iconic cabanas with private changing rooms and umbrellas available for individual usage. A rooftop terrace is a bit far from the water during warmer months, but also the only loungers likely available if arriving anytime after 11am. It's also where you'll find the in-house restaurant and path to Villa Brunella, the hotel, with views of the Faraglioni and collection of fashionable Capri locals.
The Food
Known as Ciro a Mare, this beachfront eatery is a popular lunch staple for summer residents and vacationers looking for a break from the beach. A tranquil terrace setting is framed by views of the Faraglioni serving traditional local cuisine of seafood and regional pasta specialties. Appetizers include fried calamari, ever-so-cliché Caprese salads and a surprisingly well thought-out Greek salad with thick slab of Feta. Pasta entrees are on the smaller side with simple pesto, tomato or meat sauces available with a variety of noodles. Main course meat dishes include slow-cooked recipes of beef and an even better mixed grill plate of locally caught seafood.
